Cermak Family Support
Funded by the Illinois Dept. of Human Services(IDHS) Bureau of Child & Adolescent Health, the Cermak Family Support Program provides comprehensive services and support to released female offenders who are primary caregivers. The program is designed to help women re-connect with their children, encourage those who are pregnant to maintain a helathy life-style, and assist all in becoming better parents in the hopes of reducing recidivism and decreasing the number of babies born with substance abuse.
Child & Adolescent Outpatient Program
The Outpatient Program serves children ages 4 to 18 years old. Therapists provide advocacy, therapy, case management, and case coordination when problems occur in clients’ homes, schools, or community. The goal of this program is to reinforce stability by fostering social and emotional growth with supportive environments, timely interventions and quality aftercare.
Mental Health In Schools
The Mental Health in Schools Program is funded by the Chicago Public Schools and is designed to support students during and after the school day. Therapist are assigned to various Chicago-area high school to provide day-to-day social work and case management, and support services to students. Teen Parent Services
South Central began its Teen Parent Services (TPS) Program in September of 2009. TPS is a maternal and child health program, for pregnant and parenting teens, and their mates, funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services. Through intensive case management services, females, under the age of 20; and males, under the age of 25, receive counseling, educational advocacy, child and parent well-being services, and cash assistance.
Transition Services
In September, 2007, South Central received a contract from the Illinois Department of Human Services/Office of Mental Health, to provide Transition Services to youth with severe emotional disturbance between the ages of 16-18 who are aging out of the child & adolecent mental health system and youth with mental health needs who are returning from an Illinois Juvenile Justice facility to the community. Services include comprehensive assessment, individual service planning, case management, referral & linkage.
